    Has anybody seen this?

    Good or bad job?
Only issue I see is the AJ but would surround these with paving/concrete?

    Cant find pictures online.

Haven't see it in my career yet.
One thing to consider is to make sure that the hardcore build up in the immediate vicinity of the dwelling complies with the new regulations SR21/IS888 etc

Basically the same fill that went under your slab has to be used around the perimeter of the house.

    Bad job.

the house will looking like its sitting in an island of black tar.......

a path and some decent landscaping will help "anchor" the dwelling into its surroundings.

Even a metre of paving around the house will break the look of the tarmac up, I put a curve on one part of it to break the squareness of it up as well.
Its kind of weird seeing a large expanse of tarmac tbh.

    Ok, So besides visually,
    Theres no issue with it?

I’ve seen the question come up before and aside from the visual issue, there might be concerns with water drainage. The concrete paths will do a much better job of draining rainwater away from the house.

    Well... As above, Water drainage,
Also could be movement, cant get tight to house, would destroy ajs, ect....
I dont know as I dont pretend to be an expert.

Turned off the idea now anyways. As mentioned the foothpath actually does look better.

    drainage
expansion contraction cracks, especially where the hardcore depth changes at the edge of the foundations.

Dirt and sand collection in the little pits of the tarmac could leave you having to power hose around the door rather than a quick sweep away.
