I live in Tralee. Nothing on the Irish water website and google only throws up the original ban for July which I assume ended on July 31st?

I want to wash my jeep as its filthy now.

    Hi Alfasudcrazy,

The hosepipe ban has been extended to remain in place until 31 August. Reservoirs nationwide have been affected by the hot weather recently and as a result, we have extended this ban until 31 August to allow reservoir levels recover.

If you would like more information on the water conservation order, please see the following link: https://www.water.ie/news/extension-confirmed-for-d/index.xml?&page=2

    Kind regards,
    Niamh

Wash it with a couple of buckets of water. That's ok supposedly.

We keep water from cooking veg for watering the plants and the like, there's little things one can do here and there to conserve some water. you probably just need enough water to soap up the vehicle and then rinse it down, hopefully that doesn't require too much water as long as you do it in buckets rather than leaving a hose running.

Thanks Niamh. Yera I will leave it till the ban is lifted. The jeep is garaged all the time anyway so its only covered in dust really. Don't like using buckets alone to wash a vehicle - too much sediment in the water scratches the paint.

You are very welcome and thank you for trying to conserve water.

Take it to a car wash - no problem there. I think they have magic hoses or something.
