I'm just wondering is it worth doing?
I'm in a late 70s former council mid terrace house, the downstairs is cavity wall, but the upstairs is block on flat, so really external is the way to go, but just wondering if it's worth it if the neighbours don't do theirs, also doubt If I have the budget to put new windows and doors in at the same time....

Yes worth it depending on how the detail the party wall junction and how far down the rising walls they go.

Many getting done in Dublin at the moment.

as well as up through the soffit board to meet the insulation in the attic so as to create the wooly hat :)

Neither below path or above the soffit board will NOT be included in any headline quotes you get.

In passing: I don't know the answer to this question:
is grant available for such work? AFAIKR:: there was a rule that it had to be all 4 walls..

    Grants are available

In response to the grants question, if it’s a terrace, it’s presumed that the 2 adjacent houses are heated normally and so no heat loss there. So you would qualify for the grant from seai.ie

In addition to advice, include pricing for screwing around with down pipes etc. And bear in mind you will need ventilation installed to qualify for grant.

Is there much difference in how they deal with party wall junctions...?? There are 6 foot high concrete garden walls butted up against the house wall both sides,(thinking of hiring a consaw and taking a 6inch slice out each wall, and the pavement front and back of the house too.. Of course all the drains, water and gas meter box are but up against the walls...
How far down below ground level would be advisable to go?
