    Explain this part please?

Specific output is a measure of engine performance. It describes the efficiency of an engine in terms of the brake horsepower it outputs relative to its displacement

It essentially means horsepower per unit of engine capacity.

So a 1 litre engine with say 180bhp (can be done) has a greater specific output than a 3 litre engine with 500bhp.

And we know it can be done, because the subject of the thread has a 2 litre engine with 376 bhp, so 188 bhp/litre.

Which is a bit nuts for a road car.

All the ones I’ve seen advertised are 109 or similar. I assume the higher bhp in a diesel is rare to find second hand?

The highest BHP diesel model is the A220 blueefficiency with 168BHP. Not much point in sticking to diesel if you're looking for more power?

168 would be enough for me. I currently have a 147 so anything equal or slightly above that would be fine. I just know I don’t want to go as far down as 109.
