    i lost my coat,yesterday
It contains my public service card with my photo on it.
It also contains a cheque with my name and adress on it.
it also has a bank statement with my account no on it.
Should i go to my welfare officer and ask her to stop the cheque.
And give me a new one.
    check was issued friday ,
    i,m on a tempory payment ,
i get paid by cheque each week.
Is there any precaution i should take to secure my bank account.
i have only one bank account.

ask for the cheque to be cancelled and reissued.
You can inform the bank that the card has been lost and ask that they put a note on your account not to accept this as ID. If you have a passport or driving licence I would bring these with you as they may copy them as the agreed form of ID to be presented.
