A mate of mine has a Scopetronic Vista-5+
His battery has gone low, (sealed lead-acid 12V) and needs to be replaced.
With Maplin gone can you suggest where to get a new battery?
And his original engineering code isn’t working – is there a way of determining what code it has been changed to?
    Many thanks!

Most of the suppliers in the sticky & most electrical wholesalers would have these batteries.
You'll find they will be a lot cheaper than maplins as well.
There is no way of knowing what the engineer code has been changed to & unfortunately we are no longer allowed help you here with codes.
