Luas Red Line stops between Blackhorse and Connolly / The Point will be temporary closed on Sat 4th and Sun 5th Aug. Services will return to normal from 7.00am on Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug.

Red Line stops between Blackhorse and Connolly / The Point will be closed from Last Tram on Fri 3rd Aug to First Tram on Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug.
During the temporary closure trams will run as normal between Tallaght / Saggart and Blackhorse.

During the temporary closure a replacement bus service will serve all stops between Blackhorse and Connolly / The Point approx. every 15mins. You need a valid Luas ticket to use the replacement bus service. Luas staff will be at closed stops to direct you to the replacement bus service.

Essential engineering works will take place from 0.30am Sat 4th Aug to 5.30am Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug.

The closed stops will reopen and Red Line services will operate as normal from 7.00am on Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug pending completion of works.
As normal on a Bank Holiday services will operate Sunday Operating Hours and Frequency.

This Red Line temporary partial closure is to facilitate essential engineering works on the Red Line close to James’s Stop. Luas track rails will be replaced and the works will take circa 48hrs to complete. The works will start at 0.30am Sat 4th Aug and continue throughout Sat 4th and Sun 5th and finish up circa 5.30am on Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug. It is planned to have the Luas tracks back in operation and for passenger services to start as normal from 7.00am on Bk Hol Mon 6th Aug.

With the tracks almost 15 years old, the curves and area's of the city center will need to be replaced in the coming years so such closures will probally be more common.

Are Transdev and the NTA been a little lazy here, two trams stationed at The Point could provide a Heuston-Point shuttle service every 20 minutes. Transdev had no problems putting security at the Point if there is disruption in city center and trams cannot get back to depot at night and now the Green Line is there they could easily get back to a secure location.
