Private parking fine in UK

Just received a private parking fine from when I was on holidays in the UK last month. I was using a hire car and not my own.

The thing is, I know that I had paid for parking at the location and time that the fine is for but I have no proof because I didn't keep the ticket.

Can I just ignore this fine?
Can't see much point in trying to fight it as I have no proof that I paid the fine.
It is possible that I may have inputted a wrong digit from the reg when getting the ticket, as it was the first instance of me parking with the car over there.

Who has contacted you? Was it the hire car company or a private debt collections agency?

If it's the latter file it in the bin.

I got two letters. The hire company sent on a letter saying that they have given the parking company my details and that they were charging me a £30 admin charge. I only received that letter the day before the charge went out on my card.
I also got a letter from the private parking company. Both came on the same day despite the hire company claiming they sent theirs two weeks prior to the parking company.

If you're done with charges from the hire company than I'd bin the rest.

    What company are they?

Premier parking solutions. Seems like there's a lot of issues with private parking companies in the UK.

I've gotten them from them before.

They're a debt collections agency. You may get more letters from them stating all sorts but they've no enforcement powers in Ireland. Pay it if you want or file it in the bin like I did.

Don't try contact them or they WILL plague you.

Ask for proof, wardens usually take photos of the car and windscreen/dash area.

In my case it was included in the first letter. They buy fines from people who can't collect for one reason or another and then send threatening letters. They can in theory go to court but they don't bother for single one off fines. Also the British court would have no powers to enforce over here.

The ticket is for 9.50-10.50 on a monday night. I don't think a warden saw it and there was no ticket at the time on the car.

Ignore them completely. That particularly company only offers appeals to a kangaroo court. Bin.

Any chance theyll follow the Hire Company if they get no result from you? These parking fines in the UK seem to grow to massive levels with penalties and costs if left unpaid.

Zero chance. The rules only allow them get your details. Ofc the hire company charge you for giving your info away.

You are confusing council tickets. If you don't pay those then God help you.

With the chancers of the private underworld they are totally unregulated. The general advice is to ignore them.
