Hey , I have a peugeot 405 . The fan for cooling the engine hasn't worked the last number of years . Today I tried to fix it and rewired the relay and it sort of fixed it. When the gauge reaches near 100° c .the fan comes on and cools it to about 95° . I think it's running to hot thought as the coolant is coming out of the radiator cap when it reaches 100° . Is it a 2 speed fan and thathe it's only running on its 2nd speed or am I missing something. Thanks in advance

Coolant shouldn't be coming out at 100 deg C.

Possibly radiator pressure cap needs to be replaced or maybe the temperature measurement isn't accurate.

Mine goes to 90 before the fan cuts in, cuts out around 85 probably. Only 1 speed I think.

Is the temperature sensor.in the radiator ok and no corrosion on the connection?

Thanks for all your replys got it sorted . Turns out there is a resistor to enable the fan to run at a slower speed and the connection for this was corroded cleaned it up and plugged resistor back in and now it works perfectly. The fan comes on around 90°c and goes off at around 85°c . There is also a high speed that seems to come on around 100°c and off at 95°c . The radiator cap isn't faulty as it was running 2 hot so the water was boiling and was to pressurised for the system. Thanks again for helping . Safe driving
