Roof insurance NON STANDARD??

Hi I have a lean to extension to my kitchen.
The builder built it out too far and it always leaked.
There was tiles interlocking put on originally.
After years of leaks I got a roofer to put an iko felt membrane excellent quality with hardwood timber etc on with 20 year guarantee.
Very reputable roofer never an issue.
An insurance company had put a condition on it as its 27 per cent of overall roof space of house. Semi D standard tiled roof, if there is storm damage there will not pay out fully if this part of roof I'd cause.
I am very annoyed as the original roof leaked , was less secure ..this iko is fire resistant totally waterproof and much more secure.
So I wrote to insurance company with a quote for a high quality 25 year guaranteed FIBRE roof , which i was going to get to replace the iko as I see them everywhere , same thing " roof is non standard , underwriting will not covet it if storm damage ,I am stunned.
    Is there anyway around this?
Better safer roof , causes a penalty whilst opposite doesn't ! Thks
