    Noticed this myself.

    Wonder what's going on.

Probably giving the Shinnerbots a break so that they can get the party line right for the Presidential election. You cant just brainwash people overnight.

I checked up their Twitter but it hasn't been updated in over a year.

A google news search is showing up nothing.

I wonder have they been hacked again.

It's still like the wild west days of the internet over there.

    Practically no moderation.

Every now and then the database breaks. It'll probably be back in a week or so.

The OP opens their account, starts this thread and promptly closes their account after 1 post. Is this a record?

I came across this post/link on an old Boards thread about Politics.ie being down but link doesn't make sense to me if P.ie is down.

their twitter hasn't been updated since may, they would surely say if it had closed? i'd say it will be back soon.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

For this reason it's far more fun than Boards for political discussion (no "this thread has run its course, closed" even when users are still up for a debate) but Boards still has an edge by having a much broader range of forums.

Place is crawling with lunatics. They have real-life communists over there for example. Ones who think Stalin wasn’t bad. Proper nutters.

That's what good about it you don't have debates constantly broken down by incessant ott modding conversation is generally allowed to flow more freely over there it ain't perfect but its better than what you get on most places which are becoming increasingly echo chambers for certain pc group thinks, Politics.ie is a decent alternative to that.

It's pretty easy to beat the politics.ie shinnerbots. Most of them are still riding tricycles.

Jesus no! That buffoon shouldn't be let near this site - he is seriously raving. Appears genuinely to believe that the current pope isn't religious enough!

He knew too much, we did what we had to and that's all there is it to it.

Anyway what is it they say, one account closes, another one opens.

Read it once of two and it made me appreciate the posters on here, even the ones I don't agree with. Some right tulips active on that forum.

Might give some of the lads on here a chance to have a holiday. Need to make sure that the new lads are up to the grade first though.

Many of them will need a new home. How many has Boards agreed to take in?

The kip is full of middle-aged leftist trolls who spend most of their spare time on there, posting an average of 60 to 80 posts a day, but at least the censorship on there isn't as bad as here. They're all posting on Political Irish now.

He doesn't accept Francis as Pope.

Benedict is still the official head honcho according to the FM.

You see some great fights on it.

A lot of posters seem to genuinely hate each other.

Never really looked at it or had an account. Sounds like a bit of a laugh..

I get warnings, infractions and bans weekly here if I talk about certain politics and it is definitely because of my views. The mods are either hyper-biased or just trust the little brigade of posters who report en-masse.

They won that battle. I just look elsewhere for discussion on that topic.

No, its where they come from... Its the AQ training camp for forays onto Boards wearing the ould vests to create self-immolating threads and apoplectic mods playing whak-a-mole before the martyrs head off to find the 70 something Bored virgins TFM has promised them...

terribly boring. you make work on how to rile people up. bullying from a distance just doesn't cut it.

Ye'd be surprised, it's actually fairly right wing. In fact, I'd argue that it's people who are beyond the Overton Window on either the left or the right who tend to post there, because they face over-moderation here.

It does make political debate a bit more fun though. Debates go on until someone is backed into a logical corner and abandons the thread because they can't win, or everyone gets sick of the debate - not when someone arbitrarily decides that a debate has "gone too far" or "run its course", as happened a few days ago with the Peak Trans thread here.
