If someone is living in a motor home or camper van on farmland, without planning permission, and it becomes known to the  Gardai and/or County Council, what are the legal and practical consequences?

Enforcement proceedings by the council, penalties include fines and/or prison plus removal of the structure.

If they are there with the owners permission the guards wont care.

They would be living on an uncle's farm with his permission.

If someone with a campervan inneed of accommodation sets up on a relatives land with their permission the Council etc will probably go heavy on them.
Howrver if you just pull your Hiace and caravan onto land against the owners permision they wont do at a tap about it

If the Council have people with experience of such trespass they may move swiftly for an injunction.

One such van may soon be joined by others, including the UK cousins
