I am beginning a course in which we receive as part of our course fee the standard iPad. If we pay a bit extra we can upgrade to the 10.5 iPad Pro. There is the choice of 64GB and 256GB. The standard iPad available with the course is only 32GB so for the course materials I will have more than enough space with the 64GB. I am just wondering for general use is 64GB enough? I don’t blame I doing anything too intensive on it so will go for the 64GB if people think that is suffient as it is over €150 to upgrade to the 256GB. Thanks in advance for any help.

Im sure someone will reply to say they have their's full at 64 and yes it's possible if you are storing lots of videos and photos but imo 64 really is plenty for any kind of work / study situation. I have a 32 and I have used maybe 20gig. My photos are not stored on it nor music not photos. Those things are what will make a difference for most people.

That’s good to hear. I will probably have it synched with my iPhone but even then being realistic 64GB is more than enough. I was just afraid that the iOS on the Pro would be taking up a good bit of space.

64Gb on the iPad is fine once you’re sensible with photos and music.

icloud, One Drive, dropbox all together for photos. 64GB is sufficient. I think ios11 takes up around 11gb so you'll have 53GB storage.

Actually checked with I have left on my iPhone which is also 64gb and I have about half that left. Have plenty of videos and photos and planning on syncing with that so I think it’s a decent indicator.

So I picked up the Pro in the end. Thanks for the advice! Just had it the last two days.

One slight worry is I already had a problem with the split screen which is a great feature IMO. From the get go when I was dragging up apps from the dock to open as a split screen they simply weren’t opening and were going straight back to the dock. I restarted the ipad and this fixed it so it didn’t take much but still worrying that I had an issue with it straight out of the box.

I’m now using it but when I split the screen I don’t appear to be able to do so evenly. I drag one side to the middle but it just moves either side and essentially I end up with a 1/3 and 2/3 split of the screen. Any idea why this is happening and why I can’t split it down the middle into two even halves?

    Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: So it seems I can split it down the middle on landscape mode but not when help upright. Is this normal? Also still having issues with the responsiveness of the swiping up.
