Id like to hear some feedback on the economy flights to the US. From what i see you have no entertainment available, food is extra and possibly a long bus ride waiting for you when you land. For me, the holiday starts when i get through security so looking at the back of a seat for 7 hours is unappealing.

Overall is it worth the savings?

Yes. Flew Norwegian dublin to to Stuart. Looked like new aircraft and were very clean. Bring a tablet to watch a few movies or a good book. Bring your own sambo or bottle of water, which you can buy once you get through security. The food option looked overpriced for what it was. You can buy tea coffe and sandwiches with a credit card on the aircraft. I picked up my hire car in Stuart airport while I was waiting for my bags to arrive. The rental company was right there beside the baggage area. Much nicer and easier airport to move around and get out of than Jfk or Newark. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Can't knock it. Don't know the price of onward buses.

As a frequent flyer, I'm baffled by folks who place such an emphasis on IFE, when deciding who they choose to fly with.

Load your own phone / tablet, bring a powerbank & you're immune from the vagaries of tinny sound, a dodgy screen or cabin crew rebooting the entire system (after you've started watching something), 'cos the bloke in 19 D's screen is acting up.

Just to add, for 140e, you will get a ten inch Android decent tablet HD screen

    Bluetooth Headphones, add 40

CAtch up on emails, Movies TV Series , E Book, Google Maps etc
If you download and save Movies TV Series in advance, will work without wifi

    Much more enjoyable than IFE

+1 to Norwegian. Flew to Stewart last year. Flight was on time, bus was waiting and departed on time. I have slept whole way back on night flight. Definitely will go with them again.

Haven't flown with either yet but I love the idea of being able to get to the US for €200 return. Out of the two it's Norwegian that have the far better offering in my opinion.

The basic WOW fares have hilariously restrictive baggage allowances with the base fare only allowing you a small personal item (handbag/small back pack/laptop bag) with a proper carry on bag costing about €80 extra. I consider myself very low maintenance but a small personal bag just won't cut it for more than a couple of days. Add to that the layover in Keflavik and the lack of pre-clearance and it starts to become less attractive.

Norwegian on the other hand, while they fly to out of the way airports, they do give you a proper allowance of a 10kg wheelie bag and a personal item in the base fare and you've the bonus of a direct flight and pre-clearance at Dublin airport. As a poster above mentioned, the bus to NYC from Stewart is $20 each way (about €35) and timed with your flight so pretty convenient. Once you figure your way around JFK and switching subways etc getting into the city there probably isn't a world of difference in the time it takes and it's probably less stressful overall.

I wouldn't be pushed about IFE and food etc. Tablet loaded with stuff you want to watch with a pair of decent headphones (which is easy for anyone now since Netflix allows you to download content) and come prepared with snacks, sandwiches etc for the flight and you're laughing. Would probably be better than whatever slop they're serving anyhow!
