My aux belt snapped on my 2003 1.9 renault trafic earlier. Lost my power steering, but otherwise the van is driving ok which hopefully means the cambelt might be alright.

Would anyone know the ballpark figure of getting the aux belt replaced?

I'd say somewhere between €50-€100 depending on who does it, belt itself perhaps €25 max.

Auxillary belt sometimes drives the water pump, with this weather I would avoid driving it far or you risk overheating the engine.

On the 2006 it drives the water pump...

thanks for info Atlanticdawn. Yeah not sure on the 2003 model if it drives the water pump, but no reason why it wouldn't!

went to the mechanics with it yesterday anyways. It's at the point where I'd scrap it if I had to put in more than 500 into fixing it, so just wanted to see if it was worth fixing.
