    Buy the parts online.

Don't buy the Suzuki top box, buy a Givi (look on adverts, donedeal and breakers for secondhand) and a universal mounting plate from Ebay.

If you're putting side boxes on it you're going to have to buy a rack, more money ~ buy soft luggage.

Are you fitting a belly pan or bash plate and has the bike go crash bars?.

If you're buying crash bars and plate go with HEED from ebay, they ship from Poland and are quarter the price of Givi and excellent quality.

You can fit it all yourself with a basic tool box, and I think the HEED stuff comes with the tools you'll need.

Best of luck with the Vstrom, they're a bloody great bike. Ugly as the day is long, but cracking good bikes.

I have the SW Motech crash bars, centre stand and belly pan, look great. Admittidly I had them professionally fitted, cost €90, although the brash bars must have been fitted too tight as the coating has started to come off around the fixings.

    centre stand: https://sw-motech.com/en/bike/SUZUKI/DL650/2007/WVB1/products/safety/stands/centerstand/4052572006931.htm

Also have the Kappa 40 litre panneirs and rack which I fitted easily.

Was it a Motech Engineer that installed them? :P

I love the term professionally fitted.

Its bolts and nut anyone can be 'professional' with a spanner :D

299 for a centre stand, how many BJs are included in that price? :p

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Jaysus, that's expensive when a paddock stand is about 15.

Bound to be a used one on eBay for a fraction of that.

You'd get a nice Abba stand for that kind of money.

    Here's a genuine top box.
Not sure if suitable for whatever year your bike is.

    I wonder what's the difference.
If it was me,I reckon I'd get it to fit somehow.

    I just wouldn't bother.

I'd go with Givi every time and move it with my bikes.

Mine's on its fourth bike now.

It's your first bike, you probably won't keep it as long as you think. You only have the bike a short while, live with it a little longer before investing too much into what you think you need. You'll know what you need when you've lived with it for longer, how many miles have you clocked? Just buy a cheap paddock stand and buy the top box online. Serve your time and enjoy it, I didn't have a centre stand on my first 3 bikes but now I know how to use a paddock stand, I've only ever bought my luggage online and fitted the frames myself, this is another element of being a biker and it's great.

Most luggage use the same plates as a lot of the box bases are identical.
I've a feeling a lot of the box's are made in the same place.
Or,at the very least use the same supplier for the bases.
I know Suzuki use Givi boxes for some of their luggage but not certain if for all.

Obviously I'd check that base before buying it.
There's only a small s bagde on the top of the lid that tells you it's Suzuki which could be easily removed if you really wanted to.
That's a cracking price for that box, well especially when you compare it to the normal retail price.

Monolock and monokey are the main 2 types.
Other brands use these systems as well.
Whatever bike you have you just need to make sure the fitting plate suits the the type of box you have.

The centre stand is only really needed for servicing, with just 100 miles done you probably haven't even lubed the chain yet. I'd get a paddock stand for the moment if I were you. You don't need to park the bike upright, its fine on the side stand. Save your money for something you need, 200 would get you a very good pair of waterproof gloves or boots. That said, definitely get a top box, kappa are another brand to consider.

Kappa,Shad and Givi all the same quality.
I have Kappa and Givi luggage and they can be swapped around to use on the other ones plates.

My bike was on its side stand while Ophelia stole my fence panels and the bike never budged so don't worry about that. If bikes fell over in a gust then centre stands would be the standard.

You'll need to lube the chain every 300 to 500 miles/ km.

Blade has you covered on the luggage options.

    Yes.
Just put the existing plate on your new bike or buy a new one.
You can go for a monolock system which is usually cheaper and more of a universal fit or there is the monokey system which is dearer but more sturdy.

A side stand if you leave it in gear is more stable than a centre stand.
