how did the weekend go gents? I played on the Saturday in Ballybunion, it was my first time playing it and I found it very very tough...Tralee on the Sunday was much better, its my favorite course in Ireland. I have been lucky enough to be able to play it a few times and it has never disappointed.

Great weekend. Started ominously enough as wed booked to play the Cashen course on Friday eve and we got lashed out of it. Made it 9 holes before admitting defeat. Thats the last two years wev been rained off the cashen on the friday!

Saturday was very windy and that made it the more difficult day but it was grand compared to friday! Even though it was tricky, we played quite well and wouldve posted a v respectable score if not for an absolute tragi comedy on the 16th hole. 2 of us with putters in our hands hitting our thirds on the par 5 only to walk away with zero points. Disaster.

Weather was pretty perfect for Tralee but we didnt play or score as well as we did on saturday. Disappointing but always such a treat to get tralee on a nice day! Had dinner with my uncle and his family in Listowel on Saturday night along with a few pints- idyllic stuff!

Should have explained that better. meant to say never played on the weekend before where you play Ballybunion on the Saturday followed by Tralee on the Sunday. my bad...

great weekend of golf. Is it controversial to say that Tralee is a better course than BallyB :eek:

    Not at all.

A lot of players who don't have to worry about the advertising power of ballyb rate Tralee ahead of it

...if the front 9 was the same as the back 9 then yes, to me the front 9 (while great) does pale in comparison

6th and 8th surely. 7th is the relatively bland par 3

only played it twice over 2 years ago now. 6th is dogleg blind tee shot? im not to mad on that.. lost balls each time because hit to far down the middle. maybe if i played it a bit more.
i like the par 3, some lovely houses there when looking around the tee box, but id say they would be a brute to live in in the depts of winter
