Seat Alhambra Adblue problem

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I have a 5yr old Seat Alhambra and a few weeks ago the Adblue bottle with a spanner underneath amber warning light appeared and the dash said I had 600 miles left of Adblue. I tried filling the Adblue and downing the reset in the hope this would solve the problem. It didn't. I took it to the Seat dealer and they've had it for a week, have done a "Regeneration" (which they struggled with), replaced the NOx sensor but have still not got rid of the warning. I feel totally over a barrel. How can Seat produce a vehicle that produces such an obscure fault that even a main dealer can't sort it. Has anyone had a similar issue and, if so, what was the solution?[/font]

Not much help but my solution was not to buy diesel.

Can Seat, or VAG, not log onto the car and diagnose it? I know Toyota used to do this. Or else try a different garage, I work with people who all received the same standard of training but there's only a few I go to for help if something is wrong.

The adblue tank has a built in sensor that gives trouble in them. It’s a common issue with that generation Alhambra/Sharan. But it usually flags an obvious fault code so maybe it’s not the issue here.

We've had a few of those in the form of Sharans, giving adblue errors like that, they seem prone to it. Seen a few with wiring faults and one where VW did need to come up with a new piece of software to rectify they fault.

Surely in a week though they've done more than a forced regen and swapped out a sensor?

If that car has had the emissions update done, I don't think they'll be charging you for the NoX sensor anyway? Although I know that doesn't remove the inconvenience.

We have had a nightmare on a couple of these getting them to accept a fill once they got below a certain level. Cant explain how we got out of it, but after messing with adaptions we got them to accept the fill. Really looks like there is a software issue on these reminiscent of the early passat handbrake ecus you'd eventually get them sorted with no idea how you got there.
