    Folks,

Want to join 1 inch hydrodare to 1 inch hydrodare. This is internal diamater.

I want to keep the diameter at 1 inch through the coupling or as close as possible.

Which connector would suit. Have seen Philmac recommended but not sure which one for 1 inch pipe.

Philmac, no contest. Can you cut a piece off it and take it to the hardware shop with you if you're not sure?

Yes, planned on doing that alright but like to do the homework as well.

I'm only using the hydrodare as a buried conduit for cables so will not see any significant pressure. But would still like to keep mositure out.

This Philmac connector might be the one but it's not cheap at €12 or so and I will need 3 of them.

Any other options that will keep as full as bore as possible.

Would HDPE do the job? I think it can be got in whatever length you want, last time I looked, so no need for joiners at all. I think Terra Services do that kind of pipe.

It's the blue pipe in the first video, might be worth a call.

What I have at the moment is I believe heavy gauge. It is 1 inch internal diameter and 34mm external diameter. I used it as I had some lying around.

I have 3 short lengths buried and connected into a shed. I don't want to remove these as it's a bit of work. I'm looking to connect longer lengths (25m) to each of these. I haven't bought the longer lengths yet so can choose what I like but I was thinking of using hydrodare as it's quite strong.

Having looked at the price of heavy gauge vs normal gauge I'd be looking to use normal gauge for the longer lengths. There is only a 1.5mm difference in wall thickness.

If it's heavy gauge (HG) use brass fittings as there's no need for an insert on HG. The outside diameter is the same on both HG and LG so the insert will not reduce the internal dia on the LG.

Tho I doubt the fittings will be cheap..........

Get another piece of pipe or hose (say a foot long and 34mm bore) to sleeve the join and tape the ends of the sleeve to the hydrodare with waterproof tape
