Big fight this for Diakese who was seen as a huge prospect

Also the Sunday evening fights are a great treat. Just in time for the Open finishing!

Diakiese now 0-3 in his last 3 after starting 3-0 and looking really good.

He's handy to have around for the European cards and is always in entertaining enough fights, but in such a stacked division he's likely just 1 loss away from being cut now.

Shame, because as Dulux said he was seen as a big prospect.

Diakase reminds me of Pettis in some ways. Give him space and he looks like a world beater but back him up and he lacks composure. Talented fighter in there though. Showed heart to hear the bell too.

3 losses in a row in 12 months though.

    Really enjoyed that one.

Bad year alright. Strange as you can see the talent he has. Some lovely technique but composure just goes out the window when he’s pressured smartly

He needs to have a plan B. Take some time out now and work on a game plan for when people pressure him and deny him space.

Thought Zawada had him with that sub attempt there at the end of the round

Loved that sweep there from Zawada. Interesting fight

I'd be shocked if this wasn't a split.

That was a great fight to watch

Think Struve is past it, Tybura is strong fav here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,587 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Has Struve hurt his hand? Maybe its just my imagination

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,518 ✭✭✭tinpib

Ah here. That's a awful 'cut' to Struve's lip/chin. I'm not doctor but i'd call it a hole rather than a cut.

This Azaitar fella is all action. Entertaining watch.

One more decision and this event will tie the record for a single event which is 10

    Yep.

UFC 169, Bisping v Silva, Mousasi v Machida, and Tybura v Werdum.

Didn't Cormier want to fight him??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

The issue now arises where there's such a complete lack of depth in the light heavyweight division that it's almost impossible to build Smith.

He's probably going to be going from a couple of good wins over big names but lets be honest, completely finished fighters, to a Manuwa type. Huge step up.

If there was any depth at all in the division you could give him another 2 or 3 before throwing him in to the deep end.

Time for Shogun to go to Bellator.

    Awful card bit some KO.

a few stinkers and a few good fights there

think haqparast could be good prospect, reminds me of gastelum, looks a bit like him imo and the iron chin with it
rakic another I really look forward to seeing again, fabinski on the other hand is a name I won't forget for the opposite reason :pac:
the lad who beat miranda a bit of a bull, wild and exciting to watch though.

anderson surprised me, his conditioning is off the charts and he made tex look old and slow I thought

nad narimani is ready for the big time after beating paddy the baddie and showed it here tonight, glad he won though his opponent could be decent in time.

give it up rua ffs but he has won his one fight in 2015/2016/2017 which I'd totally forgotten about (villante, anderson and little nog) so maybe he isn't quite done yet :p
