Could your private messages cause a lot of hassle for you if they were made public?

Let's pretend your text/what's app/email's/etc were made public. Could they cause you trouble?
I am referring to most things here talking about illegal drug use or other illegal activities, having affairs, something that you did at work, or just generally language you've used, did you ever use racist, homophobic, inappropriate sexual language?
I'm not really referring to people who are complete out of order but a few words could land some people in a lot of trouble if their messages were made public.
Thinking about myself personally. I've probably said the odd word here and their that could cause me trouble if I had certain careers.
They'd probably be the odd thing if you went through all my messages that could cause other people a lot of bother.

I can only think of one thing that would cause me trouble. The rest of it, everyone knows already. I post all my shlt on here even though plenty of my friends know this account.

It's possible I'd lose a friend or two if everything was released but I really don't care.

Mine would probably be more embarrassing than troublesome. And some to cause people to say 'WTF is this lad on?'

It's my mates in the whatsapp groups that should be worried, some of the filth they do be sending...

No, don't really do private messages anyway.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Most of my private chats with friends are pure defamation and conspiracy theories. I wouldn't be in trouble if my PMs were made public, I'd be in trouble if anyone took them seriously.

Nope, mine are as boring as can be, I learned early on not to self incriminate, :) now if it was a phone tap there could be problems.
