Recently moved to and work in Cork city and just wondering who is good to service Seats in Cork. Is Finbar Galvin Seat in Cork just a sales outlet? I'd consider driving to Blackwater in Fermoy or Finbarr Galvin in Bandon if they do servicing on a Saturday and one is better than the other? Other than that, I might have to send it up to Blackwater VW in Cork city as they are close to where I work during the week. I know they would do the same job but I'm a little vain with my car and prefer to keep the Seat stamps going. Any other recommendations much appreciated. Is one better or rip you off less? Thanks

Are you only interested in Seat garages so?

    It does sound that way.

I've no first hand experience with Galvin's but they seem to have a good reputation.

Galvins don't do servicing on a Saturday but they're a good bunch of lads and don't pull the p1ss on prices.

Think the servicing is closed in Victoria Cross but Bandon is only 20 minutes.

Cashmans in Midleton are good for servicing too, but they're part of J&P now so I don't know if that makes any difference.

Thanks all, ideally I would rather a SEAT dealer as otherwise I might as well go to a backstreet indep dealer (who generally aren't much or any cheaper); although I know VW and Skoda cars and dealers do the exact same service drill and generally have the same price plans. I guess if all the SEAT dealers in the area are rubbish and a really good Skoda/VW dealer existed that opened on a Sat, I would consider switching. Seat have a lot of new and lost dealers so my concern was bringing it to a "new" dealer who basically is only selling cars and has no real service rep built, is J&P in Midleton a new seat franchise or did they keep most of the old Cashmans staff?

I don't know if they kept the staff, I would assume they did. It was always Seat but they might move it to Mahon as I think Jaguar and Landrover are moving to Bishopstown from Mahon.

Galvins have Seat and Skoda in Bandon.

Blackwater should be fine for it at any outlet tbh, there's nothing seat specific about any of the parts used.

I'm in a Skoda now but if I was still in a Seat I'd still spin out to Bandon for service even though Cashmans is 10 minutes away. I just found them really accommodating and the work done is always spot on.

it looks like there are lease signs up for JP/SEAT Midleton from what I saw passing, you might be right about them moving

I can vouch for Blackwater Motors in Fermoy,
They take extreme care of your car when it goes in for a service. ( Just specify for them not to wash it, thats if you like to wash it properly and not with a brush )
Any time my Passat went in to them, the first thing they did was
seat cover ~ floor cover ~ Steering wheel cover.
I was really impressed and it doesnt cost the earth.

Got the car serviced today in Finbar galvins, very happy. Fine showroom and whats seems a very efficient operation, they have a fine showroom. Got a loan car that was a demo and spotless (many times I have loaned garage cars that are minging). Was dealing with Brian and hes a pretty down to earth no bulls**t kinda guy(just what I like). I sense this place is ran like clockwork. Prices are as per main dealer but as other poster said, they don't rip the piss, he knocked a few pound off as I got a good bit of work done which was very fair.

Brian is an absolute gent, good it went well. I know people knock main dealers but they're genuinely on the ball and clued in.
