To teach in further education you need to have a teaching qualification, either a Professional masters in post primary education or a hdip in adult and further education. Unless you want to teach beauty therapy or hairdressing, to teach these courses you will probably need a train the trainer qualification, a level 6 in hair dressing or beauty therapy and a number of years experience.

Hi. I have just completed my train the trainer and would love to get into a college to teach hairdressing. What is the best route to do this? Contact the school? Where is the place to look for jobs advertised?

Hi Nelly, you first have to register with the teaching council. You cant teach without a teaching council number. The best to look for jobs is on ETBjobs.ie Dont contact schools or send a cv into a school or education centre, you can only apply to these jobs through ETB applications.
