Alarm Box Bell

    Hi,
What are people's thoughts about the siren in the external alarm box? I know they are meant to silence after 20 minutes automatically but is there any point to them anymore? An internal bell is useful to wake people up at night but when you are away and have a monitored alarm either direct to your phone or a call center, doesn't it just annoy the neighbours? There are so many false alarms around....was thinking of just using the strobe and not wiring the siren in the external alarm box ....Thanks!

Well there is talk over the last few years of noise legislation coming in.

An alarm is only as good as the response it gets, the days of external bell boxes getting that same level of attention as they once were are gone and that is simply down to popularity and people not maintaining their systems properly.

The standards dictate that you need 2 forms of notification so a strobe outside, an internal siren and the systems capability of informing you of the activation will keep you within those standards.
