Functional car for $150!

Wanted to change car lately, and was a little surprised at what you can now get for around 150. Cars that are nct'd, and going well- even the hatchbacks ( before 2004ish). Maybe with a few dings. And the saloons of this age are very hard to sell.
SO if you know your stuff or have a mechanic to check out prepurchase, you can be motoring for around a day's wages!! Crazy!
What's also crazy is scrappers and mechanics have been telling me that the amount of decent cars getting scrapped is shocking. This is not very environmentally good behavior. Insurance companies are v. much to blame of course.

$150? Did I wake up in America this morning?

But yeah, you can get super cheap cars for a bargain if you get lucky and know your stuff.

Was there a question in there somewhere OP?

I'm not at all surprised to see NCT'd cars for 100 euro

I scrapped a perfectly good 2000 Skoda fabia for 50 euro this year because insurance was crazy and it needed new tyres (visual retest for NCT all was needed)
