    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if it's tradition for the father of both the bride & groom to wear the same suit as the grooms party?

I have 8 suits to buy/rent for my grooms party (and parents). Where are the main spots to check out for not just a potential bargain but wide selection of suits?

Thanks in advance. Getting married this December :)

I think it is tradition but it's not neccesary, by any stretch. None of the weddings I've been to since about 2008 have done that, and that was a very tradtional church wedding.

If you're looking for suit bargains, and are renting, theres a few places that will give the groom suit free with 4 other suits or something, and if you're getting a lot of suits (8 is a LOT) then you could probably wrangle a discount, especially as you're marrying in a slight off season. If you're based in Dublin and plan on renting I highly, highly recommend Tangos dress hire in Temple Bar. A good few friends have rented stuff from them (including tradtional wedding gear) and my Dad got a gorgeous ex-rental tux from them, tailored to him perfectly a few years back, which he wore to my wedding and looked FAB. I also bought my best mans trousers & waistcoat from them last year, they were the only ones I could find who had the actual proper black tie waistcoats.

If you're good to buy, then you could probably pick some good suits up in the summer sales in a few weeks in places like M&S or Debenhams.
