Hi I applied for illness benefit on 2nd of July I was on jobseekers and working part time 9 hours a week the jobseekers claim has been closed since last week as I checked online but I have not heard anything about illness benefit decision I have handed in 2 certs since then
How long does it usually take and will it be back dated

    Thank you

It did say if on jobseekers the 6 days are paid but I’ve heard nothing and jobseekers claim is cancelled so I’ve not been paid anything hopefully I’ll have word this week I’ve 2 certs handed in now

Talk to your gp and see if they believe you have an illness or injury that's going to last longer than 12 months ,
It's not a simple case of just just applying and getting it

u can only apply for disability wen your stamps is finished on your illness benefit
if u wer only getting 88.90 u could have been topped up to bring it to 195 from your local welfare officer

It’s life long unfortunately but I don’t know if I have to wait a certain amount of time or not to apply for it

    Not true.
Anyone can apply for DA at any time.
The 88.90 can only be topped up if there’s no other income coming in.

They asked a simple question not for an exact breakdown of their financial situation
