Anybody have experience with educational software for ~4 year olds? Intend on getting him reading and maybe doing a small bit of maths before he goes to school and hear there are some good apps for this kind of thing. Not opposed to doing it the old fashioned way either mind you.

I've just heard there are some very good solutions but hard to tell where to start by googling because I presume the recommended lists coming up are probably paid for.

Personal opinion only but I would do it the old fashioned way. Aldi have a few workbooks st the moment for preschoolers. I didn’t look too closely but think it’s the kind of thing you are looking for.

Why do you want the child to read before they start? Likewise re maths ? Children need to have so many other essential skills for school, they will be doing literacy and numeracy long enough ! I say this as a teacher with nearly 30 years experience .
