    Hey

I have recently got back into going the gym and I am mainly doing weight exercises. I play football few nights a week so get plenty of cardio in by doing so.

I have am issue in trying to shift stomach weight. I do not eat badly and rarely drink. I just think maybe I'm not eating the right kinda foods or not enough. I am looking for some were in Dublin that offers an inexpensive diet plan so I can get something in place to guide me . few I have seem seem to be quite expensive.

    Any help really appreciated.

There are typically two issues at play: good quality and food quantity.

When you say you don't eat badly, what would you eat on a typical day?

    Thanks for the reply

    Generally I'd have
    porridge with blueberries for breakfast
Lunch an omelette with spinach or tuna in a wholewheat pitta bread
Dinner usually something from weight watchers guide curry, homemade pizza ,prawn stir fry
If snacking popcorn or rice cakes with peanut butter .

Food quality seems ok. Try recording on MyFitnessPal for a week (don't bother including exercises on it as it usually overestimates calories burned quite a bit. It will show you what you're eating. It means weighing the food but you're mostly making it so shouldn't be tricky...just a bit of a pain in the hole to begin with. But its a really good tool for shining a light on your diet.

What height and weight are you?

Its a bit of a pain the first few times but it stores what you enter so you can select from the previously entered items.

It might not answer the question but its a useful tool.

You might not eat badly, but if you have a belly you are eating too much.
Cut all your portions by 25% and you should shift weight.

Would it be better to reduce carbs and increase protein accordingly rather than just cut flat 25%? (genuine question)

If you're just looking to drop some weight then it doesn't matter.

Ideally, you'd keep protein up and cut the calories elsewhere but you can make those tweaks over time when you get a bit more info on your actual intake of calories.

Reducing all portions by a flat % is just the easiest way to reduce total intake.
It would probably be slightly better to aim for a certain amount of protein and reducing total calories but that requires a little more effort
