    1. How can I report an individual who is in breach of the hosepipe ban?

    If you wish to report an individual who is in breach of the hosepipe ban, please send us a PM with the address of the property where the breach occurred and details of what happened. Irish Water will investigate these reports.

    2. I have no water to the cold kitchen tap. Can you help?

    If you are experiencing supply disruptions to your cold kitchen tap, please PM us the following information and we can follow up for you:

    -  Your name;
    -   Address; and
    -  Contact number

    3. How can I report a blocked sewer at my property?

    If you suspect this blockage is the result of a blockage on the public wastewater mains, please PM us the following details and we will be more than happy to help:

    -  Your name;
    -  Address; and
    -  Contact number

    4. Can commercial businesses use power washers/hoses?

    The hosepipe ban only applies to domestic users. The ban does not apply to commercial customers as their business may have a dependency on water for their livelihood. The ban doesn’t apply to commercial use except for a number of specific prohibited uses such as watering gardens and filling fountains, swimming pools and artificial ponds.
    If your business involves power-washing patios/buildings, then the Hosepipe Ban does not currently prohibit that use. However, we urge businesses to reduce and conserve as much as possible at this time.

    5. Where can I find the latest water quality results for my area?

    Irish Water publishes drinking water quality results for Water Supply Zones across Ireland and these results show contaminant levels found in testing of the public water supply. If you would like to search you address you can do so at the following link here.

    Visit the beauitful green gaa pitches in st annes park - thousansd of gallons or water used every morning, meanwhile everyone else is allowing lawns and plants to die!  Not even a county pitch.

    Hi clontarf 101,

    Many sporting facilities, such as GAA grounds, golf courses and racecourses, have their own water sources for watering sportsgrounds, as the water does not need to potable i.e. of a drinking water quality standard. Some also have the ability to recycle water.

    Thanks,
    Mairead

    Hi Irish Water,

    I’ve noticed over the last month or so that the water coming from my kitchen tap is no longer clear – it has a very faint brownish hue if held up to the light. I no longer drink the water as a result but still cook with it and make tea. Taste from cooking and tea appears unchanged. I’ve noticed no ill effects on myself. Have there been reports or incidents with the Glenealy water supply over the last while? Should I be worried?

    I live in Glenealy, Co. Wicklow and I believe the local water is drawn direct from the local river (and filtered at a small plant).

    Hi dogmatix,

    Thanks for your query.

    There have been works throughout October in Glenealy to facilitate new connections. These works are no longer taking place and the supply should not be discoloured.

    If you send the following details via PM, we can look into this for you:

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Contact number; and
    - If your neighbours are affected.

    Thanks in advance,
    Allanah
