    hi guys

I got some good advice here before so here's hoping again.

I just got my power steering pump replaced and that's working fine. About 300 meters after leaving the garage the car started to stutter badly and losing power engine light on along with the battery light the car would sometimes cut out altogether. If I was slowing down in 4th gear just before I would need to change gears the lights would flash again.

    Anybody any ideas

Just a little more info for you guys. I went down to mechanic plugged the car in for fault codes. Crank shaft sensor fault came up on this would this be the problem ? Car is being put on lift wednesday to be check mechanic said that it could be faulty wiring.

It's entirely possible that the original mechanic snagged the crankshaft sensor or wiring when pulling out the old power steering pump. They are fragile enough to get damaged easily. Its too much of a coincidence to be random!

I'm surprised the 2nd mechanic didn't attempt to diagnose it further.
