Maybe someone can clear this up for me.

When buying say a pickup that is normally classified as commercial, when changing it over is there a difference in the category?

What I mean is, the EU Classification might be Commercial but I will just be using it for normal domestic use.

    Or does it matter?

I know it matters when it comes to tax the car but does it matter with the VRT?

No, the VRT isn’t affected if it’s still a commercial but taxed privately (on cc based tax)
