    Hi,
I was wondering if any of you can tell if there is any breakers yards where you can still enter and browse rather than just get stuff over counter? I know only of 4 in Ireland:
    - Headford Rd. Galway - very small and high prices
    - Kilcock Dismantlers - good place and not to expensive
    - Clonpriest dismantlers - in Cork, a bit far to drive from Galway if there won't be any interesting things for me.
    - Tullyally breakers - in NI side of Derry - much cheaper than Irish yards, but again long drive.

Do you know of any other places as of 2018?
    Thanks
    Greg

I rummaged around a Ford Focus for an immobiliser ring about 3 years ago in St Margarets Dublin. Not sure of the name of the place. There is a site office, but if you ask they might let you dig around.

This seems to be the best place to source parts IMO.

Are you sure about Tullyally? They used to allow you to wander about and pull your own parts of cars if you wanted but I don't think they do anymore...open to correction though. Mc Daid in St Johnston were the same.

Not sure as haven't been there for quite a while now. It's sad to hear that, despite near 4hr drive I really liked going there...

They didn't had all I was looking for and by sheer luck I got one important part from car where they didn't remove engine yet, as they are cutting stuff out rather than dismantling (saving time probably). so if you need an airbox as I did, tough luck. Good place nevertheless.

Do you bring your own tools with you? (Silly question I know!)

I do :) In Kilcock if you don't have tools you can ask for help and they will remove part for you.
