As per thread title.. what oil should I put in there planning on changing it next week.
Filter etc accessible?... sump key something standard?.. haven’t poked around the engine bay at all really. No doubt there’s a pile of plastic to be taken off underneath.. must drive it up on the ramps tomorrow.

5w30 oil and you'll need a 8mm square drain plug key

Not just any 5w30. These take a very specific 5w30 C4 oil. RN0720 is the relevant Renault standard you need to look for on the can.

Cheers, does it matter if it’s fully synthetic or not?.. once it’s RN0720.

You won’t find anything meeting the spec that isn’t fully synthetic.

if there's plastic underneath just whip it off and leave it off.
them 1.5dcis are a great little engine. I've found them to be very tough.
I'd say any oil will do it.

Have that engine in an 06 Kangoo van and it doesn't get regular servicing. It had universal tractor oil put in it at the last oil change which must be a few years ago at this stage. Driving away mad so it is.

Renault main dealer is the best place to get the oil. Around 40 euro for the 5 litres.

Oh and the oil filter can be an arse if its tight. I used ond of those adjustable pliers yolks.
