    Hi All,

I just had a look at a 2.0 TDI A4 B7 today and everything seemed ok with the car. After test drive with the car still running I clicked the "Check Button" and got some scary looking lights on the dash followed by an OK.

The owner told me that this is just the car doing a self test but warnings were in red. I have captured it on video. If someone could have a look and let me know if all looks ok or if I should avoid.

To note, the video starts about half way into the first click of check button ending with OK and then I click it again.

    Edit:
I don't know why the video has flipped the image, sorry about that.

It is a self check and if it says ok at the end everything is fine. The owner is not misleading you.

You pressed ‘check’. Car cycled through and checked all of those components. Car confirmed everything is “OK”

If there were any issues, the warning for whichever component was faulty would already be lit on the dash and remain there.

All its telling you is there is enough oil, coolant , window washer fluid and fuel in the car not to trigger any of the low level sensors and that the front brakes pads aren't worn down to the wear sensor yet - it's by no means a diagnostic scan or a vote of confidence per say.
