So my other half is finally upgrading her 98 E11 corolla, sorry to see it go but we now need 4 doors. It has been a great car and is still in great nick, half considering moth balling it!
Have seen a 14 plate Honda Jazz EX 1.4 with 20k on the clock with a one year Honda approved warranty. Looks nice and has quite a few extras, I know they have a good rep...Anyone have any first hand experience or opinions on this model?
    Cheers

I’m in the same situation as you... just be aware there are a few places selling Japanese imports which are harder to insure...

I had a Honda jazz 1.2. I loved it. By far best car I had. Reason I changed was very minor and I still miss it. Every time I brought it for an NCT or service they complemented it and I even saw it the other day. So 13 years later someone is still getting use out of it. Only issue I had was the regret of letting it go!

Thanks for the replies. I should've mentioned that I now live in Scotland so no real issues with high insurance or tax! The E11 is £275 a year fully comp and we're both in our mid 30s.
We're viewing the Jazz on Tues. It will be our first non-bangernomics purchase in about 10 years....the idea of drinking a coffee in a nice dealership showroom is a bit alien to us but am looking forward to it! The Honda salesman has been excellent so far even sending me a video of the under carriage of the car.

    This is true :)

But seriously had a Jazz for 2 years and never gave me any trouble . Not as much as a light bulb let me down

I hear ya. I have a Civic for over 6 years and it’s cost me nothing in repairs yet.

Is it nothing like completely nothing.
Or just nothing meaning very little?

Aircon relay which I got for free when picking up some stuff for another car from a scrappy.

That’s it outside of basic maintenance. Needed front shocks. That’s about the most expensive thing it’s needed in 150k of driving. It’s very easy on brakes, will do front pads and discs now as they’re on it since I got it in 2012. Did rear discs and pads in 2015. That’s all maintenance stuff though.

    That's indeed very good.
    Mine (2009) with 260kkm now.
At around 150kkm front wheel bearing failed.
And I also had trouble with aircon which I though it was relay so got a new one (but then it turned out it wasn't the problem) and eventually it turned out to be faulty clutch in A/C compressor. Very easy to fix with small shim and 1.5h work.

Outside of that I changed front discs and pads at 200kkm and rear discs and pads at around 240kkm.
And all 4 shocks at 245kkm + eibach springs (springs didn't need changing, but I wanted eibachs :) Rear shocks were also not too bad and would still last, but I decided to change all 4 anyway. Fronts were gone, but no surprise looking at Mayo roads.
And obviously oil + filter every 20kkm, and air, pollen and fuel filter every 40kkm. Gearbox oil every 130kkm, and coolant changed last year.
And EGR clean few weeks ago - 2h job for myself (cleaning detergent for a tenner).
I'm more than happy, especially that it's a diesel.
