A cousin bought a house with a stream on one boundary close to the house. Flood water was eroding the bank. Figured gabions were the only solution. Used the twisted wire mesh type. They come in different sizes all flat packed and must be assembled by tying the 4 corners together and an internal divider as well. When filled a top cover is tied down as well. If you want a nice stone finish the stone will have to be placed by hand. Otherwise fill with loader grand job. The welded mesh type has smaller openings I think so might take smaller stone. A fair bit of work in assembly and can be a pain if adding on baskets where space is tight.
