Hot weather starting issue.

My father has a 2007 1.4 golf with a mere 80000km which he stubbornly refuses to change. He has being having an issue with the car not starting lately but only when the temperature is very warm/hot. He had the same issue last year and once the hot spell passed the problem passed. I had him talked into buying a 330e but then he taxed the Golf so the car should be fixed really.

    Any ideas?

I have a different car, but I had a similar issue recently that was caused by the starter. It was most evident during the warm weather and if the engine was still hot; e.g. if I just stopped for a few minutes. A replacement starter sorted it.
