Gyms in Limerick

Hoping to get some recommendations that'd fit what I'm looking for..

Was previously a member of Energized Gym in Togher, Cork.

When I moved to Limerick I asked for suggestions for a similar gym here. Somebody here suggested Fit 100 in Ballysimon.

I joined Fit100 for a few months, but never really gelled with trainers there.. one in particular. It's a shame because the set up was what I was looking for, which is supervised training sessions (few trainers on the floor supervising 10-15 people working out, walking around keeping an eye out and helping those who were looking for their input).

I'm wondering if anybody can suggest similar. I think I was paying 120 a month for Fit100, which is worth it for the right place to me. I don't want to join a cramped busy gym, nor one where there's no program put in place for members etc etc.

A personal trainer would be ideal but at about €40-50 a session this isn't feasible to do 2-3 times a week!

The summer can be misleading wrt how busy gyms get in Limerick, especially near UL. Castletroy Park Hotel gym is quiet enough when there are no students there, too busy during term time. Dunno whether the staff are good for advice. I never looked for personally.

    Have you tried City Gym?

Also, you don't necessarily need the PT to oversee every session.

I hadn't, but just got in touch there with them, thanks Alf.

No prices on their website, any idea how much?

No idea. I just know it's a small but well-kitted gym.

Just to add, I actually train in Citygym (on the powerlifting side rather than the classes, but I am there a lot when classes are on).

Can't comment on the price for the classes, but I honestly couldn't recommend the place enough. The trainers for the classes are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful; on top of the classes they also coach powerlifters and have taken lifters to national and international level. One of their lifters even medalled at IPF World Juniors a few weeks ago.

The environment is also great and everyone is encouraging and want to see you do well.

The classes are pretty much exactly as you describe above so definitely sounds like a good fit, and the equipment is top quality.

The classes themselves are on 6pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday if that's any help also.
