I’ve a 11 qasqhai that is dripping liquid onto ground under the front passenger seat.

Any ideas what it could be?

Could be a good call as I only got it refilled last weekend after it went empty

    Thanks

Most likely I'd say, especially on a hot humid day like today.

Air con stopped working as on consently lately. Found out it was due to been empty so got it refilled and worked straight away.

So I guess yes is the answer to your question

Is this condensate from the evaporator in the dash, shouldent this leak off to the outside. Could drain pipe be undone or blocked.

OP says it's on ground so it is fine

What needs topping up? What’s it called?

The Aicon uses a refrigerant, the same as any fridge (r134a). Over time, this can leak slowly from the system rendering it inoperable. You can get DIY refill cans in places like Halfords, but there are also places which specialise in refilling this refrigerant (they also do a bit more e.g. refilling the compressor oil, adding dye for leak detection, vent decontamination for odour control).

Bear in mind that absence of gas can imply a leak, especially in a newer car. If the leak is significant, a refill will only last a short time (if it works at all). In such cases, a proper repair is generally required.

Why could it leak, especially in a new car?

Did you even rear the previous posts? Also it's a 7 year old car.

Leaks on an older car can be just age related slow leaks due to aging o-rings etc. In a newer car, that is less likely, so a leak is possibly something like physical damage to the condenser (which is the most exposed component, being in front of the regular radiator).
