Affordable people carrier

I'm looking to buy an affordable people carrier, don't want to spend more than 5k and no older than 2009. Any suggestions?
I hear Citroen aren't great but what about Renault? Engine would want to be no bigger than 1.6 as tax is crazy otherwise

Anything from 2009 onwards would be on the new tax system so unless it was some larger capacity fuel guzzler it's going to have cheap motor tax. So you shouldn't be limiting yourself to 1.6 or under.

If your looking at the Renault Scenic then try and stretch to a 2010 model as that's the newer model which is way more reliable than the older model.

Yes, from 2009. They look completely different so will be easy to tell the difference. The rear lights on the newer model go up to the roof,
The old model ran from 03.
