BMW E60 auto gearbox issue

    Hi,

I recently had my 2005 E60 525D Auto Gearbox serviced and I am confident that this was done 110%. What I have found though is now when I break to come to a stop that there is a juddering or a clunk when the gearbox goes from 2nd to 1st. It does not happen all the time but when you are stuck in rush hour traffic and constantly stopping and starting even a few times out of every 10 is quite worrying.

Some forums refer to software updates etc. for this Gearbox and I'm wondering is this what I need as I have no doubts the later software was never put onto this gearbox. If I brake really slowly and come to a stop I can almost always prevent the juddering or clunk of gears.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    R

Does this occur with both the aircon off and on?

Definitely occurs with it off and I am almost certain it does when I use the air con.

Try it with aircon on. I had an issue when I ran the aircon off that when coming to a stop the car would jerk to a halt. With aircon on, no issue. I always have my aircon on so never occurs.

Sounds to me as u said the box was serviced 110 percent that’s fair enough but did he use a computer to reset the adaptations this must be done after servicing the gearbox. The box the re adjusts to your driving. We do tons of BMW’s so just to let u know this should of being done

No he did not reset the adaptations and I suspected that this was the issue so thanks for that. Can't seem to find anyone that will do that for me around Dublin or Meath. Any suggestions. Thanks again.
