Hi All,I've pretty much agreed to buy an import car (it's being brought in by a 3rd party on my behalf) but it has literally just dawned on me that when the odometer is converted there's going to be 70478kms on it .........
The mistake is completely mine, took the 43793 as kilometers not miles. The car is 3 years old and it's a diesel Would that kind mileage on a 3 year old car concern you?? They have told me the car has a full service history.

70k on 3 year car is just over 23k per annum.
Why would anyone be concerned? It's perfectly normal mileage for a diesel car.

I'd actually be concerned if it had any less.

Few years back I bought 3 year old car with 130k km on the clock. Now it's nearly 9 year old, had 260k km and still running strong.

70k km is low mileage, I wouldn't worry about it. It's average mileage.

A lot of the ones I was looking at online were around the 20-30k (miles),similar year but they were lower spec so not what I wanted, but in my head that's the kind of mileage I was aiming for!!!

Grateful thanks for easing my mind !!!!!!

Provided there is a documented full service history, mileage shouldn't be any concern. I'd much rather have a car that has been used but taken care of than a suspiciously low mileage one. You're fine ;)

I Though you meany 730k kms, now that would be bordering on the high for a 3 Yr old car

Woudlnt worry too much: as it was mentioned earlier normal usage. Think about like a calculation:

    1. Shop run - 5k one way (10k return) x 3 days a week = 30k shoppin
    2. Commute - 10k - (20k return) x 5 - 100k

You have 130k weekly x 4 - 520km a month = over 6k kms a year and just 2 types of trips = you end up with 20k kms only going to work and doing shopping. Add all unplanned trips etc and you will easily double that

At least this is how I approach this

Wouldnt worry about this too much - as long as all is documented

20k a year is about the minimum that justifies a diesel, any less and I would be concerned about improper driving or even clocking. Don't worry, if it was serviced properly is perfectly alright.

I read it like that too!

@op Just dont convert it to km and you'll be fine. My 3 year old car in 2013 had 88000 miles and i didnt think that was excessive.
