I think its very important with the weather conditions and water shortages to get the message out to the entire country..by public announcement ..that its not just about water hose ban thats needed.

If the average household has 4 to maybe 6 people, . flushing toilets and showering, dishwashers ( I know are more economical now, but still..) washing machines going. It needs to be made abundantly. crystal clear as selfish as us human beings are, to be SUPER conscious of water usage and wastage.

We dont need to flush loo each time, if we are supposed to be drinking plenty of water ..then well, more frequent trips to the loo....showering, max Of time needed? 5 to 8 mins? encourage parents to enforce it or encourage they're children to be extra extra conscious. why wait til there is no water left in our rivers and total drought, then it will be too late. ?

It would surely make a difference if its headline news, the majority of the public are not savey and we are all in this together and as a nation need to make a huge difference and adapt and respect and be grateful for the water we have ! at the moment.

I feel the same. It’s as if the government don’t want to be buzz killers or something.
Should have been a big announcement before the news started pointing out that it’s great crack now filling the paddling pool every morning and watering the hanging baskets for an hour every evening but no one will be laughing when we’re queueing for bottles of water atvthe Council tanker in August

If I don't shower and have clean clothes I can't go to work. That goes for the 6 other people who live here. What do you say we do?
If we fill the pool with water we could take communal baths I suppose.

Atthe end of the day I don't think too many people are ripping the pi ss. Sure you will get the odd selfish house but generally speaking most people will be conscientious about the situation. On a side note.... With the heat and the occasionally flushing the loo anyone else's bathroom shtink of urine :x

Im not talking about the extreme, like leaving the loo full of pee for the day !within reason.  I just left the cold tap running while I brushed my teeth, without even thinking about it. All I m is saying that We all need to be reminded and all we have heard on public media, news etc, is them bangng on  of the water hose pipe - in the garden ?
