What's my car worth?

Thinking of changing car later this summer and trying to sort out finances etc. Would like to hear some opinions on what my current motor is worth. It's a 2009 VW Passat Highline. Original Irish highline with the heated leather sport seats and dual zone climate control. 2 50% front tyres and 2 almost new rear tyres. Mechanically 100%. I've serviced it myself over the last 3 years of ownership @15k kms intervals. Bodywork is good but not perfect, some paint peeling on rear bumper and a small mark low down on one of the front wheel arches. Minor cosmetic blemishes and no dents. Mileage is highish @ 300k kms. It's also the 110 bhp model 2.0tdi bluemotion so not fast but 55MPG. Brand new silver yuasa battery earlier this year too, supposed to last 5 years. NCT until May-19, Tax until Jan-19

What could I realistically expect to get for it in a private sale?

Ask €3500, take offers over €3k?

    2500 to 3500

Thanks for the responses. The above figures are close to what I had in my own head. Seeing some similar cars on DD for 4-5k ish by other sellers but wonder if they'll be sold anywhere near that price. Mileage counts against my car even though it's in great mechanical order. Once the hosepipe ban ends I'll have to clean her up and stick her on DD!

With that mileage I would have thought it would be closer to 2k than 3k. If you are under no hurry to sell then stick it up at a high price and gradually reduce it until you get a bite.

I didn't want to break their heart! Ya under 2500 to sell to most people but they might get lucky!

Do you have records of the services? parts bought etc?

Does it have full service history before that?

Nope just kept it in good order myself. The previous owner was getting it serviced locally at a small indy garage. So no documented service history. It doesn't burn a drop of oil in fairness so I'd imagine it was cared for. I have a receipt for brakes, shock and bushings from 18months ago and that's all the work that ever needed done. I'll stick it up for 3.5k and see what happens. I'm hoping the €270 per annum chape tax will entice a few potential customers!!!

Going to hijack this thread rather than start my own.. But curious what I might get for my own.

2008 (old tax!) Merc C180, 115,000km. NCT'd yesterday with 2 new rear tyres, brakes just done, and full service last week.
