Pregnant, JSA being changed to bank, no money for 2 days

    I have a toddler and baby #2 due mid-August.

I normally get paid on a Tuesday in the post office (jsa and rent allowance). When i handed in my bank details form today, she said she would put the request through now and it’ll be in my account next Thursday. A few weeks ago, my local Community Welfare Officer told me that it would flag up on his system and he’d change the RA to bank too.

My only worry is, I budget from Tuesday til Tuesday morning. There’s no breathing space so I can’t ‘spare’ anything for food for Tuesday and Wednesay. I called my Welfare Officer as soon as I came out of SW to see if he’d be able to help, but realised he closed half an hour prior to me calling (or is still working but doesn’t answer phone.. and he NEVER replies to emails). He wont be there until Tuesday again. I’m afraid he won’t be able to give me something on Tuesday to tide me over til Thursday, and if he could sort something, i probably wouldn’t get it until Thursday.

I’m sure it will all work out, but it’s just a little thing stressing me out now and not what I need at this stage of my pregnancy.

Anyone had any experience with anything like this?

I'd send him the e-mail anyway and ask him to change the payment tomorrow into your bank for next Tuesday - nothing to lose and every chance it will happen!

Ugh I just did and got an automatic reply that he’s away until late August, so i’ve had to send it to another office. Fingers crossed they can sort it for me.

    Thanks for the reply
