How active are the traffic wardens in Galway outside the city centre ?
Seems every street is pay and display for no particular reason and in areas that do not have high turnover of cars parking.

Traffic wardens are not active enough in Galway City. Parking rules are ignored in Salthill and go unpunished. There are always multiple cars parked on double yellow lines outside Coco’s. They are parked on a pedestrian crossing less than 80 meters from a Garda station yet go unpunished. What does that say?

Traffic wardens are very rarely seen around galway .
Also they work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday .
That's why you see total abandonment of cars on Sunday's in galway .
Where else would you see cars parked up all along foster street and eglinton street on Sunday's ????
Also traffic wardens turn a blind eye to certain cars .
They are well aware these cars are owned by shop owners and are allowed to park as they please .
Yet again galway not having a clue how to operate as a modern city .

I never saw one on Canal Road until 2 weeks ago. He parked his van and walked up and down all the roads there, that was around lunchtime on a Saturday. Not seen anyone there since but have noticed a warden around town much more often than previously. Maybe they are stepping it up over the summer.

Did pay and display not come in on Sundays?

    This too shall pass.

It say that people are likely ordering a quick take away coffee and authorities are sensibly exercising their discretion

But when every one does it cause problems so the discretion they're using is not really that sensible.

To answer op's question: no idea about parking wardens in galway but judging by the way people park in the city center they don't seem to be very active.

    In a similar vein.....

Over 270 fines issued last year for parking illegally in disabled spaces

Unfortunately not. Many are happily sat inside, and not availing of ample free parking all around Salthill. They are double yellow lines for a reason.

Exactly worn out .The typical Irish I'm all right jack brigade.
Zero tolerance is the only answer to that shower .
But the wardens won't do their jobs probably because of pressure from the city council elite to turn a blind eye to certain car owners.
Double yellows lines in galway mean nothing.
Shower of cheap fxxks who won't pay for parking .
The same shower will respond by saying
"I will bring my business elsewhere ".
These people are so mean their business ain't worth a fxxk.

Any evidence of anything or are you just ranting?

DACOR .... 20 years of driving around this city with a pair of eyes and a brain .
Drive down foster street on a Sunday .
Cars parked up all day .
Continue to drive down eglinton street .
Cars parked up all day .
Drive down back the west .
Cars parked up all day .
    DACOR it's called been observient.
Open your eyes and your brain and you to will see it .
    Not a rant .
It's the way galway village operates.

Are there wardens seven days a week 9-5? There must be minimal chance of being caught therefore if you park between 5-6:30 which is when the free parking starts I think.

    I don't know their rosters.

But I've seen the fruits of their labours in St Augustine St on Sundays.

I doubt its a 9-5 job. Many council workers are on duty at all sorts of hours.

I think you might find that people live on those streets.
