Hi, I know this has been covered before but can’t find what I’m looking for.

On Jsa, starting new job next Tuesday, but won’t be paid till Friday of following week. I think Jsa is paid in arrears so I can collect for first week in P.O. that will have to do then till following fri or is there any chance of getting anything from CWO to make up the shortfall for the 3 days. If this makes any sense. I get Jsa in Tuesday.

To clarify, my next/last Jsa payment will be Tuesday 10th , I also start work on tues. but don’t get paid till 20th. Is it worth looking for Swa for the 3 extra days?

You should go to the Social Welfare Office first thing tomorrow morning and ask them to withdraw your 6 day payment for next Tuesday and ask them to replace it with one for 5 days -if you don't they will write to you in a few weeks time looking for you to refund the day. Get a note from them to say how much you will be getting next Tuesday. Then go to the CWO with evidence of when you are starting and when you will receive your first wage. You will either get SWA from Tuesday next week to Thursday (10 days) of the following week less the amount of JSA you will be getting, or you will get paid from Wednesday of next week until Thursday of the following week (9 days) with no deduction, it depends on the office you attend.
    Good luck with the job.

I see from your latest thread that you started work. If you went ahead with your request for SWA while you were waiting on your first wage, would you mind sharing with us how you got on?

Hi, I didn’t bother going to the CWO in the end. My employer is a Dublin company and I work in the West. It took 3 weeks to get back form for WFP, and I was told from my manager it would take that long to get anything from them. Didn’t think it’d be worth the hassle tbh.
