Eliminate smoking smell

So after a few months of looking I finally came across a motor that suited my budget and needs.

The only drawback is it was a smokers car.
    3yo 30k kms

Now the headlining is clean and unmarked, I viewed the car during the heatwave and there was a distinct solemn of smoke :(. I liked the motor though so put down a deposit and am waiting on a few things being sorted and I’ll have it next week

Dealer has had a full valet done including shampoo headlining, he assured me the smell is vastly reduced but still some lingering smell when car is closed up over the sunny day.

Having read a few bits online I’m thinking of trying one of the air con cleaning “bombs” that work with fans running.

Do you fine detailing minded folks have anything in particular you recommend ??

The dealer said the remaining smell will disappear in a short time and to use air fresheners during that time.

If it matters it has leather seats, not sure if this holds more or less of the smell.

I hate when a car is destroyed by the smell of smoke. It's very possible to still smoke in the car and not have such a bad smell by just having the window down. I can't for the life of me understand how people can drive around, windows up puffing away and then when they open the door, a plume of smoke emerges before they do :pac:

If I were you Brian I would bring it to Spirit detailing for a full interior cleanse. The fact it has leather seats is a good thing but the smell does stick to them, they're just easier to clean compared to cloth seats.

In fairness it also depends on how many cigarettes are smoked in the car. I always had windows open but smoked so much it was still destroyed.

I was able to reduce it with a good valet I done myself and leaving windows open when parked at home on dry days

    Too far from me.
