    Hi, first time mam. Applied for child benefit last Monday online on my welfare

    Still only showing as submitted. Any idea how long it takes to get approved? Thought it would be quite quick over paper applications

    I’m assuming that you got a letter inviting you to apply on line?

    Took us approximately 10 weeks to get our first payment which was back dated obviously. That was last September tho. Baba born in June.

    Thank you. Yes got letter. Don't mind when it gets paid , just want to make sure it is OK etc... R application. Everything else I applied for (maternity and paternity) was approved within 2 days
